- Diamascorp lists Diamond Mining into three main categories:
a. The alluvial diamond-mining, which were deposited in the rivers and deltas from kimberlite pipe structures, these deposits have accumulated over thousands of years from surface erosion into waters bodies such as rivers. b. The direct reduction of the kimberlites, the host rock of diamonds, with the kimberlite pipe structures, spanning a maximum of 2 km in diameter. c. Off-shore diamond mining in coastal areas – the shifting of diamonds along coastlines. The activities of the Diamascorp Group are currently focused on alluvial mining in the Northwest Province in South Africa. This area is located in a main delta south of Kimberly with a production that allows the company to cover their customer demand through raw materials supply. By merging with small-scale miners are we able to increase our global productivity.
The South African diamond fields are known for high quality and coloured diamonds. Some of the diamonds recovered in this area are sized between 0.10ct and 251.00ct (fancy yellow); This area plays home to some of the largest coloured diamonds in the world.
Diamascorp adheres strictly to the guidelines of the Kimberley Agreement and is supportive of fair trade agreements and regulations.
